Ryan Reynolds smelled like "champagne, beer, and grass" when his soccer club won promotion to the English Football League.
Ryan, 46, co-owns Wrexham AFC with Rob McElhenney, and after the Welsh club won promotion with a 3-1 victory against Boreham Wood on Saturday (04.22.23), he celebrated on Twitter.
Ryan tweeted, "Everything I own smells like champagne, beer and grass." Rob and Paul Rudd were also at the game. I'm still laughing. This place and sport are romantic. Thank you, @Wrexham_AFC (sic)"
Rob, 46, also posted on Wrexham's promotion. Rob tweeted, "I have no words other than THANK YOU (sic)" with a photo of fans and players after the game.
Ryan co-owned Wrexham in 2021. The Hollywood actor previously said that he met Rob, who plays Ronald 'Mac' McDonald in 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', via social media.
Ryan told Rob on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!': "I sort of slipped into your DMs. I saw Rob on 'It's Always Sunny'.
He accomplished something amazing. It was stunning. A black-and-white dancing routine with rain... I thought it was the most beautiful, well-shot, and performed three minutes on TV.
"And I... as I'm growing older I'm thinking, I've got to tell folks when I appreciate them more. "
"I follow you on social media and just DMd you to say, 'What I just saw on your show was spectacular!'"
