Phil Mickelson, LIV golfer, is outspoken. He blasted the Official World Golf Ranking on Monday morning.
World-class golfers are determined by the OWGR. Some dislike it because LIV players don't get points.
LIV players have debated receiving points. A Twitter user argued that the OWGR should adapt to LIV's 54-hole format and 48-man fields.
Mickelson responded that the "OWGR's job" is to rank all players, including LIV players.
“Colt. Not our job. The owgr ranks all players worldwide. Maybe they can do their job and figure it out like they do for several tours with hundreds of players
not even close to as good. Leaders won't because it would hurt the PGA's CBS revenue.
He then said he "doesn't care" about OWGR points but called out the PGA Tour's "collusion" with the OWGR.
I don't care about OWGR points. I'm in three majors for 13+ years and all four until 2025.
It's about doing what's right and exposing the behind-the-scenes collaboration to assist JM earn all his TV money.”
LIV Golf's impact on the 2023 Masters Tournament's best PGA Tour players is undeniable. At Augusta, Mickelson, Koepka, and Reed finished in the top five.
