After a strong freshman season at Duke University, local basketball standout Ashlon Jackson will play in a national tournament.
Jackson and three Duke players will compete in the USA Basketball 3-on-3 national tournament in Colorado Springs this weekend.
Duke players Kennedy Brown, Vanessa de Jesus, and Reigan Richardson will join Hardin-Jefferson graduate Jackson.
Duke head coach Kara Lawson, an Olympic 3-on-3 gold medalist, will guide the team in Colorado. 12 men's and 16 women's teams will compete for a national crown.
“We are excited for USA Basketball 3X Nationals to return to Colorado Springs,” stated USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley.
“This event allows athletes to be evaluated for USA Basketball 3x3 national teams and raises awareness of this emerging and unique style of basketball.”
Jackson started all 33 Blue Devils games as a rookie. Her defense earned her 13.3 minutes per game.
