11 Winter Nail Colors That Are Always So Stylish

As winter approaches, so does our desire to start paying more attention to our nails. In the summer, we schedule gel manicures every few weeks to maintain our manicures and pedicures. However, in the fall, we prefer to give our nails a break. But as the holiday season winds down and we prepare for New Year’s Eve, you can bet that we’re eager to get back on the manicure train.

In the past few weeks, we’ve been diligently collecting winter nail inspiration that we can’t wait to try in the coming months. However, due to our packed schedules, we anticipate running out of time this season. While we are huge fans of nail art, we recognize that it can be a time-intensive trend. So this winter, we’re preparing to embrace a classic block polish in some of the season’s most fashionable hues.

    1.Glazed Polish

In between a glossy polish and a shimmer polish, reflective nails are predicted to be extremely popular this winter. Christine Doan, a manicurist, clarifies: “This is not a typical glitter color. In daylight, the particles are finer and have greater depth. I enjoy wearing them to holiday parties because they reflect light from a variety of angles.”

    2.  Muted Jewel Tones

Winter has traditionally been dominated by jewel tones, but this year things are looking a little different. “I believe that traditional jewel tones will continue to be popular, but this year they will become more muted to create a new look. The undertones of these jewel tones are more neutral or grey “says Doan.

    3. Chrome Golden

Gold polishes can occasionally appear somewhat flat. This winter, however, it’s all about creating accents with nail polish to make the metallic finish stand out. Doan explains that liquid gold–effect paints are a quick way to enhance any manicure. Consider it similar to the gold hardware on your favorite designer bag.

    4. Deep Red

What would winter be without a classic red manicure? This season is all about ultra-shiny, dark hues. Iram Shelton, a session manicurist and nail expert for Max Factor, states, “A deep red is a timeless hue that can be worn throughout the year, not just in the winter. You do not need to visit a salon to achieve salon-quality results. When paired with a glossy topcoat, dark shades look fantastic on shorter nails. It can quickly transform your appearance from zero to one hundred.”

    5.Midnight Black

Black nail polish ebbs and flows in popularity, but this winter it is back in style. Shelton says that black nails are so versatile because they look great on any nail length/shape and complement every skin tone. Whether you choose a matte or glossy finish, black nail polish is a season-appropriate choice.

    6. Elevated Glitter

While glitter nail polishes can risk appearing dated, one coat of dense, chunky glitter can elevate any nail look. “No longer do nail polishes contain only one type of glitter. The more dimension and sparkle a nail polish contains, the better it appears “says Doan. Be certain to apply a topcoat to prevent chipping.

    7. Natural Nude

Natural-looking nude nail polishes have dominated every season of 2022 thus far, and winter will be no exception. “The benefit of a bare nail is that it is extremely flattering and can create the illusion of longer, slimmer fingers. In addition to being an excellent foundation for minimalist nail art, neutrals are also an excellent choice for nail color. A nude nail is a great way to appear polished without drawing attention to your nails if you’re unable to wear nail polish to work “says Shelton.

    8. Bottega Green

Bottega green has unquestionably been one of the year’s most popular nail colors, and this winter it’s expected to come into its own. “This year, green has had a moment, with designers such as Bottega leading the way. If you’re looking to add a splash of color to your outfit, you can choose from an abundance of gorgeous green hues “asserts Shelton.

Deep, glossy forest greens pair well with chunky knits, but a brighter forest green is the best way to add some color to dreary winter days.

    9. French Manicure

    10. Subtle Shimmers

While glitter nail polishes will undoubtedly be larger and more noticeable, this does not mean that there is no place for subtle shimmer. Shelton states, “Subtle glitter is having a moment right now, and I think we’ll see a lot more sparkle as Christmas approaches.” Add it to French tips for a subtle nod, or apply a fine white or gold shimmer to the entire nail for a festive look.

    11. Velvet Nails

If you want to elevate your standard manicure, a magnetic polish could be the ticket. “It is a nail polish effect that can be controlled with a magnet. There are metal particles in the paints, so different effects can be created depending on the magnet used “says Doan. This color trend is available in a variety of hues, but we believe that a deep, dark hue is where it truly shines.
